Home Staging

Staging a home helps it to sell faster and for money than an un-staged home. As an Accredited Home Staging Professional Realtor, I help my clients stage their home as part of the listing services I provide.

Whether it’s a hot or slow market Staging helps. In a slow market it will help a home sell faster and in a hot market it will help it sell for more money. Barb Schwarz the creator of Home Staging says “The way we live in a home and the way we sell a home are two different things.” She also says, “Buyers only know what they see, not the way it’s going to be.” It’s best to stage the home prior to introducing the home to the marketplace to get the biggest bang. I help provide ideas as to what needs to be done to adjust the home so that it will appeal to the vast majority of buyers and to make the home inviting.

The goal of staging is to provide the desired effect without spending much money. I first try to work with the home owner’s current furniture and accessories to keep costs down. The Staging process involves actually un-decorating the home and de-personalizing the home so that the buyer can more easily envision themselves living in your home. I’m also a member of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals which is a network of Accredited Staging Professionals that stay in contact to share new ideas as to how we can help better serve our clients through staging.
