Signs of progress merging Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort into "Park City"

I snapped this picture while mountain biking last week. You can see the new restaurant, to be called Miners Camp and replaces the old Snow Hut, under construction. In the background, you can see the new Quicksilver Gondola route as well the Silverlode chair to the left!

In case you missed Vail Resorts' recent announcement, the combination of Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort now will be called simply "Park City", with the base areas now known as "Park City Base Area" and "Canyons Village". Park City Mountain Resort is still the business name of the combined resort, but you will see just "Park City" in Vail's marketing.

With several areas in and around Park City having "Canyons" in their name, I'd like to highlight that Canyons Village is not a new area but rather the same Canyons base area that you've come to know with the gondola, Orange Bubble lift, Cabriolet, and the many lodging options including the Sundial Lodge, Grand Summit, Silverado, Waldorf Astoria, and others.

And don't forget about Deer Valley, right here in town! Vail Resorts has gotten the press lately and raised some eyebrows locally with it's "There is Only One" campaign. I sometimes feel like Deer Valley has been lost in the hubbub but rest assured, Deer Valley is ready for the 2015/2016 ski season with their great service as always!
